Together with Wine Chips

📋 People that Made our History
Roberto Clemente was born on August 18, 1934, in Carolina, Puerto Rico. From a young age, he showed great talent for baseball. At 17, he began his professional career, and in 1955, he joined the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he played his entire Major League career.
Clemente was known for his batting skill and strong arm in the field. He won 12 Gold Gloves and was selected 15 times for the All-Star Game. Besides being a great player, he was a dedicated humanitarian, helping needy communities and fighting for social justice.
In 1972, while delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua, the plane he was on crashed, and Clemente lost his life. Despite his tragic death, his legacy lives on. He was the first Latin American inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, and his number 21 is remembered with pride.
Roberto Clemente is a hero and a role model for everyone.
